Objectives: The Association aims, amongst other things, to initiate policy, research, develop and maintain a database of musicians and other related industries, along with planning and hosting regular information sessions and workshops. The WCMA seeks to promote integration, economic and social development within the Music Industry and to address the concerns of musicians (employment, rights of musicians and skills development).
The Weblog: By becoming a member of the WCMA, musicians can also benefit by having their profile displayed on the WCMA-site, along with MP3’s, music videos, a blogspot and photo gallery section.
Newsletter: we have an editorial team to produce content for the newsletter and website, the site will be updated regularly with: interviews, articles, events, news of members events and projects, campaigns and CD reviews. This newsletter is distributed via events, libraries, schools, music stores monthly.
Resource Centre: Online: The WCMA office also functions as a Resource Centre whereby members can have access computers and use of the Internet services offered. Open to all Musicians: Jazz, Gospel, Dance, Hip Hop, Poets, Reggae, Music Educators, the members of the association is made up of musicians from every genre, of every age, every style and from many cultures. The WCMA is a true community of musicians. From household names to those just starting out.
Membership enables you to network with fellow members, giving you a fantastic chance to maximize your career opportunities. Musicians can fill in the membership registration form online or alternatively come into the WCMA office. Membership costs R 150 per annum which must be paid in full or part of, 30 days after registration.
